Fundraising Goal: $10,000
AMount Raised: $10,777!
April 11th 2015: Today is the birthday of my best friend, my other half, the most loyal, loving, sarcastic and ridiculously funny Brooke Powers Wilson.
For short, lowercase “bpw” She would have been 34.
I made a promise to Brooke that I would continue to build on what we started.
This ride and the miles, the purpose and this journey are dedicated to you. MEEP.
On June 12th 2015, I will be 1 of 15 cyclists to start a 3,371-mile adventure from Los Angeles to New York. Ma, I’m coming home!
Teaming up with Ride OnePulse will allow me to support three incredible organizations: The Young and the Brave Foundation, The Fuller Center for Housing and The National Mill Dog Rescue. Aside from the miles we travel and the funds we raise, we will be working to build homes for families without adequate shelter, rescue and rehabilitate animals in hopes of finding their forever home, and the one that is closest to my heart: lifting the spirits of those who are fighting to beat Cancer everyday. My personal goal with Ride One Pulse is to experience something that’s larger than myself, to find purpose and regain strength, to grieve while traveling this beautiful country and most importantly to make the lives of others a little lighter.
Originally from Westfield, New Jersey, I graduated from Seton Hall University [Go Hall!] and over the last nine years have made Southern California my home. Understanding that opportunities like these do not come around often, I will be putting my normal “9-5” in Fashion on hold and shifting my focus to raise $10,000 for Ride OnePulse over the next five months. My bicycle, the “Skinny B” and I have traveled thousands of miles across the sunny state of California raising money for multiple AIDS/HIV and Cancer related organizations. To my core I believe that a handful of people have the ability to shift the world. All it takes is rallying the right ones, the ones who understand this life is short and our time is now. I gravitate to these people and have made a commitment to make a difference before I go.
